The Camerata Emanon is a community chamber choir dedicated to singing choral compositions that require little or no accompaniment. Founded in 1999 by a group of singers who wanted to sing together for the joy of singing, the ensemble first performed in the Rockford College Performing Arts Departments Fall and Spring programs. Comprised of members who share the love of singing and exploration of all types of music, the ensemble has programmed diverse compositions ranging from Renaissance Era madrigals and motets through Twentieth Century works of composers Poulenc, Barber, Britten, Tavener, Part, Tippett and Argento as well as folk song settings and popular standards.

Past performances have included Festivals of Lessons and Carols for area churches, a Lenten Service featuring the Bach Motet Jesu, Meine Freude (also for area churches), the Rutter Gloria with members of the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center for the Centers 2004 Cathedral Concert, the Vivaldi Gloria with the Rockford College choirs and participation in programs given by the Rockford Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. The Emanons own programs have included extended choral compositions such as Argentos I Hate and I Love, Barbers Reincarnations, Thompsons Frostiana, Brittens FiveFlower Songs and Brahms Four Songs for Womens Chorus, for two horns and harp.
