The Rockford Area Arts Council is proud to host exhibits throughout the year in the newly renovated Shumway Market Building. Current Exhibit

"Alice Klock"
March 13th - April 8

Closing reception on Saturday, April 8 from 5 pm-7 pm.

Alice Klock attributes her painting and drawing skills to self study and to tutelage from her visual artist Grandfather and Father.  She has shown paintings at multiple Chicago art galleries and enjoys sharing her work and process worldwide with the 10,000+ followers of her online blog "Klockonian."

Alice describes her work: "Each piece is like a little expedition.  I don't feel that I create, or force any particular image into form.  I feel instead that I explore, excavate, and bring out what is already secretly there."

In addition to creating visual art, Alice is a dancer and choreographer, performing in her 8th season with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

For further information about any of the pieces shown here email Alice at klockonian@gmail.com or google "Klockonian" to find her blog.  To schedule a private tour, call Connie Kunte at 779-772-0716.

The Shumway Gallery is located at 713 East State Street, Rockford, IL. Admission is free.
