I’m pursuing a Media Production Specialist certificate at Rock Valley College with plans to eventually launch my own media production company, Meli Masi Productions. I am interested in podcasts, video recording, storytelling, multimedia events, and more. I also speak three languages (Spanish, French, and English) and am available for translation services.
Melissa Massiel Blanco is a child welfare social worker and a proud mother and aunt. Thanks to getting her student loans forgiven on account of her public service, among other life-changing events, Melissa has been reunited with her creative side and isn’t going to let go. The Rockford Anthology will publish her essay “Wins and Losses” (Belt Publishing, 2025). You can find her around town learning media production, rowing in the Rock River, taking dance classes, or spending time with her family.
