On Friday, June 30 at 6pm, we will be featuring the haunting, raw, and ephemeral photographic artwork of our newest resident artist, Lolo Bates, in our rear gallery space for one night only.
While other photographers were mastering the skills of digital post-production, Lolo was perfecting the craft of creating images wholly in-camera using an arsenal of analog Polaroid SX-70 cameras.
The photography of Lolo Bates has been featured in Vogue Italia, i-D Magazine, L’OFFICIEL USA, Dazed, and Sabat Magazine and was featured in Duo exhibitions in Los Angeles and London.
In 2013, Lolo began being sponsored by Polaroid, however in 2018, after struggling with substance abuse issues, the sponsorship was ended. Through the pains and joys of recovery, Lolo has found a renewed passion for photography and is excited to share her work with the greater Rockford area and beyond.
Admission is free.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.
Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages as well.
