REGISTRATION:
Women’s Suffrage Centennial Mosaic Sculpture

• 10-15 high school students, ages 13-18

• July 13-30 (three weeks), Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

• Majority of work completed at 125 N. Madison Street, a portion of work may be completed at Womanspace,

• Preparation of six (6) benches for Women’s Suffrage Centennial (WSC) sculpture

  • SPARK! Participants will work directly with WSC mosaic sculpture artist, Susan Burton

  • SPARK! Participants will learn how to fill paper patterns with ceramic mosaic design elements that are pre-cut and transfer the ceramic patterns onto the bench forms 

  • SPARK! Participants will work with assistant instructor to record their skill-building and promote the WSC campaign and sculpture unveiling

  • SPARK! Participants will mentor younger participants, preparing smaller elements that will be incorporated into the bench designs: mosaic flowers, butterflies, hands, stars, etc..

  • SPARK! Participants will provide their own sack lunch, drinks, snacks
