Not sure what to do with your jack-o-lantern after Halloween? Don’t trash it, smash it! Explore ways to launch, crack, split and smash your gooey gourd using the power of simple machine science. We’ll launch your pumpkin sky high from our giant catapult. When the launching ends, pumpkin pieces will be collected and fed to local livestock. For extra fun, build your own mini catapult, play pumpkin games and craft fall creations.  It will be a smashing good time!

Spooky Science

Attention all witches, pirates, princesses, and superheroes! Dress in your favorite Halloween costume and join us for an evening of spooktacular escapades. Trick-or-treat throughout the museum, brew gooey slime, help build Frankenstein’s monster, and enjoy tons of spooky science activities, crafts and games. It will be skele-tons of fun! Admission: $12 Public; $3 Members; free to children ages 1 and younger. Sponsored in part by Sjostrom & Sons and Comcast.

Worldwide Day of Play

Get up, get out and go play! We’re joining forces with Nickelodeon and the Association of Children’s Museums to promote active play. Join in giant lawn games and take the Play Challenge!

2023 Bubble Festival

Enjoy a sudsy day of fusing art and science with a touch of joyful magic at Discovery Center’s 2023 Bubble Festival on Saturday, September 23. The Festival will include three live shows by professional bubble artist Ben Jimenez as well as the Bubble-Palooza playground for children after each show.

Science and art are the stars in this red white and blue day of family fun. Witness explosions, send straw rockets soaring, construct light and sound creations, and create colorful masterpieces. Enjoy live science demonstrations about the science of fireworks.
