What: 82nd Annual Veterans Dinner
The Veterans Dinner has been a tradition in Rockford for over 80 years. It began as a celebration of the Armistice of World War One and continues today to bring together area Veterans and people from the public and private sectors to honor all the Veterans in our community.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Ericka E. Kelly, Command Chief Master Sergeant US Air Force- Retired. As a Command Chief, E. Kelly represented the highest enlisted executive level of leadership in the military. She has advised the Commander on all issues regarding the readiness, training, welfare, morale, and proper utilization and progress of more than 74,000 civilians/enlisted/officer active duty and Reserve Citizen Airmen serving at more than 60 military bases worldwide. She also provided direction to the Reserve Forces and represented their interests at all levels of government, other military branches and in joint strategic and operational war-fighting environments. E. Kelly has more than 27 years of government management and law enforcement experience. She serves as a Criminal Investigator for the Department of Homeland/Customs and Border Protection in the Office of Professional Responsibility. Copies of Ms. Kelly’s book P.E.R.S.I.S.T.E.N.C.E. will be available for purchase at the event. Why On November 11, 1918, The Great War unofficially ended when an armistice between the allied nations and Germany went into effect on the, ELEVENTH HOUR OF THE ELEVENTH DAY OF THE ELEVENTH MONTH. Social hour and cocktails will begin at 5:30 pm and dinner will be served at 6:45 pm. The Veterans Dinner Program will follow dinner. This year we will be offering a choice of three entrée’s, Prime Rib, Salmon or Vegetarian. Please make your selection at the time of ticket purchase.
