A fiber artist through and through. My most comfortable medium is crochet and knitting. However, I also enjoy embroidery, visible mending, coil basketry, making plant cordage, and anything else that keeps my hands busy and allows me to express myself!
My excitement around art tends to be driven by creatively using what I already have, or what is close to me. When we use materials close to us, our creations become that much more personal and specific to who we are and where we are from. The expression of who/where we are is often WHY we make art in the first place. Why not let it guide HOW we make art as well?
